NEW BOOKS FROM

Arriving in the British colony of Georgia in March, 1756, Lynn Celia Claxton soon finds herself widowed and on the run from the law. Slipping aboard a flatboat on the Savannah River, she is discovered by young Thomas Simpson, the son of the boat's owner. From that moment, their lives are forever intertwined.

The Valley Retirement Village is the scene of a serial killer's revenge. Who is alphabetically killing Sew and So Club members, and why? When the newly-elected sheriff botches the investigation, Dana Logan and Sarah Cafferty, widows living in the village, decide to solve the murders themselves. Dana, a mystery novel buff, and Sarah, a private investigator's widow, soon make a sobering discovery: they are also on the killer's list. Dana's beautiful daughter Kerrie, a news correspondent, arrives, complicating matters, but she quickly proves her value in the investigation. San Joaquin Valley fog hides the killer as well as hindering the murder case. The plot is sprinkled with romance as well as humor in this first novel of the Logan & Cafferty senior sleuth series.

It began with a kidnapping in a little house on a desolate corner of the reservation that no one would ever learn about. The home sat almost at the foot of the summer ranges where the tribe's herd of cattle grazed apart from the rest of the tribe. Here Jon Morningeagle, the tribe's chief wrangler, spent much of his time in the same rambling structure where a father even more immersed in the "old ways" than he had raised him. In this house his father, in a drunken fit of rage, had fallen off the front porch and broken his neck to be found by a teenage Jon.

Karl Von Steppeon's young wife, Liesel, has gone missing. Not certain if she ran away or was snatched, Karl keeps it out of the media and decides to hire the Connute Agency made up of two French Canadian PI's, Roofy Contu and Pec LaNute. If not for their remarkable reputation for bagging the bad guys, they could be mistaken as the second coming of Laurel and Hardy.

A shortage of cadavers, necessary for medical school anatomy classes, creates a global market for bodies of the unfortunate dead. With no regulations to govern their acquisition and transport, the scene is ripe for disaster.

In this riveting suspense, Abigail Carlson rescues an old mansion from demolition, which unleashes events that jeopardize her life and the life of her best friend's 3-year-old daughter, but ultimately provides closure to her sister's disappearance years ago.

Eric Knight was looking forward with anticipation to a great season jousting at the Renaissance Faire until someone killed his best friend. Suddenly Eric is plunged into a shadowy world of assassins and gunrunners. Now, he’s in a fight to the death that cannot be choreographed. Will he solve the mystery and find the killers before they find him? This novel provides a 'behind the scenes' view of the renaissance faire world. In these pages you will experience the humor, the camaraderie, the jealousy, and the lustfully adventurous lives of the ‘rennies’.

In the wet, warm ecosystem of the Costa Rican rainforest, a deadly amphibian pathogen lies in wait for the unwary, as well as the cunning. Years earlier, this pathogen infected and decimated frog populations. Now, silently, the mutated microorganism allows amphibian-to-human transmission. Brightly colored imported frogs, sold as pets, enter the United States. An abused wife, her heart set on revenge, purchases a vial of powder, whispered to have magical powers: an aphrodisiac if only a tiny amount is used; a larger dose results in the "bleeding death." Experts at the Centers for Disease Control identify the pathogen, but is it too late? Has it already made the leap to human-to-human transfer? What happens when the impending peril reaches high into the U.S. political scene, all the way to the President of the United States?

In a cozy cafe in the coastal redwoods, Nick Oliver is enjoying a second cup of French Roast coffee and a freshly baked scone. Living the good life is he?

She visits the strange, plague-wracked city of Orania only to encounter bigotry and deception in her search for him.

This fantasy highlights the strangest day in T.K. Mitchell's life, which began with a slight hangover and a woman lying beside him.

In this dramatic fantasy, the world stands on the edge of peace, the first peace for a thousand years. A fragile alliance has been formed between the New Kingdom and Telesia, and they have agreed in principle to set aside their centuries-old quarrel over land and culture. The deal has been forged by the efforts of Alex, the peace-loving newcomer to the throne, but things are about to change.

Alone and in hiding, the young widowed Queen takes on a new identity as she grieves the death of her husband and the loss of her newborn son, abandoned to the care of strangers for his own protection. Hatred for the man who ripped away all she held dear tempers her grief and haunts her nightmares as she relives his brutality, his betrayal. The support of her cousin and a new love do little to ease the pain of her emotional scars, until a face from the past finds her in Cape Carey with a revelation that sends her on a journey across the Kingdom, from the high mountains of the north to the rolling hills of the Estmarch, her birthplace. It is a mission to restore hope.

Nola Goddard learns that her parents fled from a magical world to protect their unborn child. Now at age twelve, she inadvertently reveals their location to the dark wizard, Grimald, who kidnaps her parents.

Return to UKOO is an engaging fantasy/satire. Is life itself a Wizard Tae illusion? Return to UKOO has some fun with the answer as 40-year-old homicide detective Dale Hern is drawn into an alternate world to discover who and what he really is. Can he survive the stink of Poo Pool? Pet dragon Burney? A duck riding race of three-foot-tall Migolites? Running out of bullets?

Morgan Glendennings, aristocrat wizard, is at a crossroads. She believes her family’s mysterious heirloom holds a secret. After much research, she learns of an ancient book that contains the information she needs. When the book is lost during shipment, Morgan suspects it has been stolen. She hires a shadowy rogue named Axel to help get it back. Together, they pursue the book and the men who stole it. Axel’s distrust of wizards and all things magical only complicates matters, especially when the chase takes longer and covers a greater distance than either expected. Caught in the intricate plots and schemes of the thieves who stole the book, Morgan and Axel push onward, trying to learn who paid the thieves for their services. Can they figure out who is behind the theft and why they would go to such lengths? And what could be so important about the Stolen Tome?

Hundreds of years ago, the Stygian race welcomed disease-riddled Jonnick to their shores despite prophetic warnings. Concealed powers of darkness disembark with the refugees.

Suppose in that milling throng, we focus on three girls who happen to ride the same school bus. Because all of them live in their own private hell, each recognizes the signs of abuse in the others. Wary, they form a pact--not quite a friendship--and escape to another town where they are thrown into the uncertain, brutal life of the streets. They recognize that so long as they stay together, they survive. A string of near fatal events take them to an old mud-brick place in Dry Wells, Texas called Dunbar's Station run by a man who is the dregs of human life. There, they find the space and time to recover. But . . . what happens if the smartest one starts to unravel? What if they forget they must stick together to survive?

Benning’s War is a tale of war, friendship, and love in the American Colonies. Isaac Benning fights in the battle at The Waxhaws. Appalled at the disastrous outcome of that battle, he goes home. His enlistment is over; he can no longer face the horrors of war. Echoes of Silence juxtaposes the innocence of childhood against the bigotry and prejudice prevalent during World War II. It provides a unique perspective into the lives of three families who endured those years and who were shaped by the events of this period in United States history.
